U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is backing a bipartisan bill to support military victims of sexual assault.
Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring the bipartisan Servicemembers and Veterans Empowerment and Support Act to make it easier for survivors of military sexual trauma to apply for and receive benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
According to VA (https://www.mentalhealth.va.gov/docs/mst_general_factsheet.pdf), about 1 in 3 women and 1 in 50 men report experiencing military sexual trauma. The bipartisan bill, led by Sens.
