Today, February 6, 2026, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) joined New Jersey leaders and labor unions and workers to sound the alarm on the impact of the federal funding freeze on the Gateway Tunnel Project, the most important infrastructure project in America - putting thousands of jobs and the economy at risk. With construction set to stop at 5:00 PM today, Gottheimer called for a multi-track strategy, including the two lawsuits and working across the aisle and with the White House to immediately lift the pause, release the money, and keep the project moving forward.
