WASHINGTON, May 16 -- Postal Service has issued a rule called: Optional 5-Digit/3-Digit/ADC Sortation.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on May 16 by Colleen Hibbert-Kapler, Attorney, Ethics and Legal Compliance.

Summary: The Postal Service is amending Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM(R)) in sections 235 and 240 to change the standards for First Class Mail and USPS Marketing Mail flats from a "required" 5-digit/scheme, 3-digit, and ADC preparation to an "optional" preparation.
