PIPELINE AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: MODERNIZING REGULATIONS TO FACILITATE TRANSPORTATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INTEGRAL TO SPACECRAFT COMPONENTS AND PAYLOADS

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 -- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Hazardous Materials: Modernizing Regulations To Facilitate Transportation of Hazardous Materials Integral to Spacecraft Components and Payloads.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan. 29 by William A. Quade, Acting Associate Administrator for Hazardous Materials Safety, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

Summary: PHMSA is publishing this ANPRM to solicit feedback on streamlining and modernizing the Agency's regulations as they relate to the transportation of hazardous materials integral to spacecraft payloads or components.
