Summary: The Department of Defense (Department or DoD) is issuing a final rule to amend its regulations to exempt portions of DoD-0020, Military Human Resource Records system of records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. Specifically, the rule exempts portions of the Military Human Resource Records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act because of national security, and to prevent the undermining of evaluation materials used to determine potential for promotion.
