OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: NONDISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF DISABILITY IN PROGRAMS OR ACTIVITIES RECEIVING FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 -- Office of the Secretary has issued a proposed rule called: Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability in Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Financial Assistance.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Feb. 2 by Robert F. Kennedy, Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services.

Summary: The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS or Department) published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in the Federal Registeron December 19, 2025. As a result of administrative technical issues, HHS is re-opening the public comment period for the public to submit comments.
