OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: AGRICULTURAL FOREIGN INVESTMENT DISCLOSURE ACT: REVISIONS TO REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 -- Office of the Secretary has issued a proposed rule called: Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act: Revisions to Reporting Requirements.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 29 by Brooke Rollins, Secretary of Agriculture.

Summary: The Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act of 1978 (AFIDA) implementing regulations establish requirements under which foreign persons must report interests in U.S. agricultural lands to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
