OFFICE OF SURFACE MINING RECLAMATION AND ENFORCEMENT ISSUES RULE: RESCISSION OF PORTIONS OF PERMANENT PROGRAM PERFORMANCE STANDARDS RELATED TO SILTATION STRUCTURES

WASHINGTON, Nov. 28 -- Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement has issued a rule called: Rescission of Portions of Permanent Program Performance Standards Related to Siltation Structures.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Nov. 28 by Leslie Shockley Beyer, Assistant Secretary, Land Minerals Management.

Summary: This direct final rule revises the Federal regulations to remove paragraphs that required that all surface drainage from the disturbed area pass through a siltation structure before leaving the permit area.
