OFFICE OF SURFACE MINING RECLAMATION AND ENFORCEMENT ISSUES RULE: PRIOR BALANCE REPLACEMENT FUNDS

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 -- Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement has issued a rule called: Prior Balance Replacement Funds.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Nov. 24 by Leslie Shockley Beyer, Assistant Secretary, Land Minerals Management.

Summary: This direct final rule revises the Federal regulations to rescind references to prior balance replacement funds, which are moneys from the United States Treasury's General Fund that replaced State or Tribal share funds that were allocated before October 1, 2007, but never appropriated by Congress, and to make minor conforming language changes.
