WASHINGTON, July 1 -- Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Occupational Safety and Health Standards; Interpretation of the General Duty Clause: Limitation for Inherently Risky Professional Activities.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on July 1 by Amanda Laihow, Acting Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health.
Summary: OSHA proposes to clarify its interpretation of the General Duty Clause, 29 U.S.C. 654(a)(1), to exclude from enforcement known hazards that are inherent and inseparable from the core nature of a professional activity or performance.
