WASHINGTON, July 1 -- Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Amending the Medical Evaluation Requirements in the Respiratory Protection Standard for Certain Types of Respirators.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on July 1 by Amanda Laihow, Acting Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health.
Summary: OSHA is proposing to remove some medical evaluation requirements in the Respiratory Protection Rule for certain types of respirators. This proposed change would only impact filtering facepiece respirators and loose-fitting powered air-purifying respirators.
