NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ISSUES NOTICE: NOTICE OF INTENDED REPATRIATION: UNIVERSITY OF OREGON MUSEUM OF NATURAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY, EUGENE, OR

WASHINGTON, March 27 -- National Park Service has issued a notice called: Notice of Intended Repatriation: University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History, Eugene, OR.

The notice was published in the Federal Register on March 27 by Melanie O'Brien, Manager, National NAGPRA Program.

Summary: In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History intends to repatriate a certain cultural item that meets the definition of a sacred object and object of cultural patrimony and that has a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.
