WASHINGTON, April 30 -- National Park Service has issued a notice called: Notice of Intended Repatriation: Kansas City, Kansas Public Library, Kansas City, KS.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on April 30 by Melanie O'Brien, Manager, National NAGPRA Program.
Summary: In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects, sacred objects, and/or objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.
