WASHINGTON, July 18 -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a notice called: Grant of Petitions for Renewal of Temporary Exemptions From Shoulder Belt Requirement for Side-Facing Seats on Motorcoaches.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on July 18 by Peter Simshauser, Chief Counsel.
Summary: In accordance with our regulations, NHTSA is granting 13 petitions for renewal of temporary exemptions from the requirement to install Type 2 seat belts ( i.e, shoulder belts) at side-facing seats on motorcoaches.
