Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) is highlighting a major win for Iowa seniors following the passage of the Working Families Tax Cuts, which deliver a historic $6,000 Social Security tax deduction for seniors and $12,000 for married couples filing jointly.
The new deduction provides meaningful tax relief for seniors who have spent a lifetime working and paying into Social Security, ensuring they can keep more of the benefits they earned. For the vast majority of seniors, this deduction will significantly reduce, or effectively eliminate, federal income taxes on Social Security benefits.
