Today, U.S. Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Todd Young (R-IN) applauded the repeal of the 1991 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMFs) against Iraq. Kaine and Young's bipartisan legislation to repeal these AUMFs was included in the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (https://www.kaine.senate.gov/press-releases/12/17/2025/kaine-applauds-senate-passage-of-fiscal-year-2026-national-defense-bill), which was signed by the President today.
