SPRINGFIELD, Ill., April 27 -- The Illinois Courts Office issued the following opinion on March 27:

1. Following a jury trial, defendant, Kevin Cooper, was convicted of two counts of aggravated battery for causing bodily harm to a victim aged 60 or older and (making) physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with a victim aged 60 or older.1 720 ILCS 5/12-3.05(d)(1) (West 2020). He was found not guilty of aggravated robbery of a victim aged 60 or older. Id. section 18-1(a), (c). The circuit court sentenced defendant to 10 years' imprisonment.
