ILLINOIS COURTS ISSUES OPINION ON THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS V/S BRUCE K. DYER II CASE

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., March 28 -- The Illinois Courts Office issued the following opinion on Feb. 28:

1. Defendant, Bruce K. Dyer II, appeals a December 7, 2023, order granting the State's petition to revoke or modify his pretrial release conditions pursuant to section 110-6(a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 (Code) (725 ILCS 5/110-6(a) (West 2022)), hereinafter as amended by Public Act 101-652, section 10-255 (eff. Jan. 1, 2023) and Public Act 102-1104, section 70 (eff. Jan. 1, 2023). See Rowe v. Raoul, 2023 IL 129248, Paragraph 52 (vacating the stay of these amendments effective on September 18, 2023). We vacate the order and remand with directions.
