WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 -- Sen. Jon Husted issued the following press release:
Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will invest $2.7 billion to strengthen domestic enrichment services over the next ten years. This funding includes $900 million for Centrus Energy's American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio.
"It's in America's economic and national security interest to invest in uranium enrichment development. The Centrus facility in Piketon is producing a critical resource for our country. This funding is a vital step toward American energy independence and will create jobs and strengthen our domestic energy supply.
