The Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee voted to advance four bills supported by U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan, including a bill led by Senators Hassan and Josh Hawley (R-MO) that will help strengthen cybersecurity for rural hospitals. The Rural Hospital Cybersecurity Enhancement Act requires the Department of Health and Human Services to develop a strategy to help safeguard rural hospitals against cyberattacks, including through staff trainings.
