WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 -- Forest Service has issued a proposed rule called: Program Review-Subsistence Management for Public Lands in Alaska.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 15 by Michael K. Boren, Assistant Secretary, Policy, Management and Budget, Department of the Interior.

Summary: Title VIII of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980 (ANILCA) requires a subsistence priority for rural Alaska residents on federal public lands in Alaska, currently administered jointly by Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture (the Secretaries).
