WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 -- Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a proposed rule called: Visual Post-Mortem Inspection in Swine Slaughter Establishments.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 19 by Justin Ransom, Administrator.
Summary: FSIS is proposing to end mandatory mandibular lymph nodes incision and viscera palpation of swine carcasses in all swine slaughter establishments ( i.e, establishments operating under traditional swine slaughter inspection or the New Swine Slaughter Inspection System (NSIS).
