U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, returned from Copenhagen, Denmark, where he joined a bipartisan, bicameral Congressional Delegation in reasserting continued respect for the U.S.-Denmark alliance and support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark over the territory of Greenland.
While the Delegation was in Denmark, President Trump threatened additional tariffs on certain NATO member nations that sent troops to Greenland. In response, Senator Welch announced he would introduce a new Joint Resolution of Disapproval to block any Greenland-related tariffs on our NATO allies.
