FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: ACCIDENT REPORTING: MODIFICATION TO THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM "MEDICAL TREATMENT"

WASHINGTON, May 30 -- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Accident Reporting: Modification to the Definition of the Term "Medical Treatment".

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on May 30 by Sue Lawless, Assistant Administrator.

Summary: FMCSA proposes to amend the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) to revise the term "medical treatment" for the purpose of accident reporting to incorporate revised regulatory guidance issued by the Agency regarding medical treatment away from the accident scene.
