WASHINGTON, May 2 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a rule called: Amendment of Class E Airspace; Roanoke Rapids, NC.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on May 2 by Patrick Young, Manager, Airspace & Procedures Team North, Eastern Service Center, Air Traffic Organization.

Summary: This action amends Class E airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface for Roanoke Rapids, NC, by adding required airspace to support the new RNAV (GPS) standard instrument approach for Halifax Regional Medical Center Heliport, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Controlled airspace is necessary for the safety and management of instrument flight rules (IFR) operations at this airport.
