WASHINGTON, March 28 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a rule called: Airworthiness Directives; ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Regional Airplanes.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on March 28 by Steven W. Thompson, Acting Deputy Director, Compliance & Airworthiness Division, Aircraft Certification Service.

Summary: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Regional Model ATR42-500 and ATR72-212A airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of the possible use of improper material during the manufacturing of vertical stabilizer to horizontal stabilizer junction fittings.
