U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today successfully passed his Disrupt Explicit Forged Images and Non-Consensual Edits Act (DEFIANCE Act) on the Senate floor via a live unanimous consent request.
"I rise today to ask the Senate to pass the DEFIANCE Act-bipartisan legislation that gives victims of nonconsensual, sexually-explicit deepfakes the tools they need to fight back against those who exploit them," Durbin began.
