CHICAGO, Feb. 9 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office of Grants and Training issued the following news release:
Cook County homeowners and renters who were affected by the Sept. 17-18 severe storms and flooding have just three days left to apply for FEMA assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 9 by 11:59 p.m. More than $45 million has already been approved to help survivors recover.
Friday, Feb. 9 is also the last day to visit a Disaster Recovery Center. All centers will close permanently at 5 p.m.
