DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: ENERGY CONSERVATION PROGRAM: PROPOSED WITHDRAWAL OF DETERMINATION OF PORTABLE ELECTRIC SPAS AS A COVERED CONSUMER PRODUCT

WASHINGTON, April 18 -- Department Of Energy has issued a proposed rule called: Energy Conservation Program: Proposed Withdrawal of Determination of Portable Electric Spas as a Covered Consumer Product.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on April 18 by Treena V. Garrett, Federal Register Liaison Officer, U.S. Department of Energy.

Summary: DOE is proposing to withdraw its prior determination that portable electric spas ("PESs") qualify as covered products under Part A of Title III of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended ("EPCA").
