WASHINGTON, May 16 -- Department Of Energy has issued a proposed rule called: Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Compact Residential Clothes Washers.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on May 16 by Treena V. Garrett, Federal Register Liaison Officer, U.S. Department of Energy.
Summary: DOE is proposing to rescind the efficiency standards for compact residential clothes washers. If adopted, this will eliminate the efficiency standards for compact residential clothes washers completely, leaving the standards for standard size residential clothes washers.
