COPYRIGHT ROYALTY BOARD ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: DETERMINATION OF RATES AND TERMS FOR DIGITAL PERFORMANCE OF SOUND RECORDINGS AND MAKING OF EPHEMERAL COPIES TO FACILITATE THOSE PERFORMANCES (WEB VI)

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 -- Copyright Royalty Board has issued a proposed rule called: Determination of Rates and Terms for Digital Performance of Sound Recordings and Making of Ephemeral Copies To Facilitate Those Performances (Web VI).

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 4 by Christina L. Shifton, Interim Chief Copyright Royalty Judge.

Summary: The Copyright Royalty Judges are publishing for comment proposed regulations governing the rates and terms for the digital performance of sound recordings by Educational Media Foundation and for the making of ephemeral recordings necessary for the facilitation of such transmissions for the period from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2030.
