WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 -- Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a proposed rule called: Notice of Availability and Request for Comment: Revision to the Voluntary Standard for Crib Mattresses.
The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 3 by Alberta E. Mills, Secretary, Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Summary: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's (Commission or CPSC) mandatory rule, Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses, incorporates by reference ASTM F2933-21, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Crib Mattresses. ASTM notified the Commission that it has revised this incorporated voluntary standard. CPSC seeks comment on whether the revision improves the safety of crib mattresses.
