On Saturday, February 7, 2026, Congressman Al Green will host his Inaugural Black History Month Legislative Update with a powerful message to America on "A Century of Black History Commemorations" and discuss resolutions that he will introduce in Congress preserving Black history, and the ongoing fight for justice. Honoring both history and the future, the program will include a moving recitation by Otis Marks III, winner of Houston's Foley MLK Jr. Oratory Competition, and a Pledge of Allegiance led by students from the 9th district who have been accepted into United States military academies.
