WASHINGTON, May 6 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; Gulf of America, Pass A Loutre State Wildlife Management Area.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on May 6 by G.A. Callaghan, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port New Orleans.
Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone one nautical mile in all directions around well #59 at approximate position 29deg04'28.919" N, 089deg10'48.720" W, near the Pass A Loutre State Wildlife Management Area. The safety zone is needed to protect persons and critical infrastructure from the potential contamination due to an oil spill in the Gulf of America.
