WASHINGTON, June 10 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Port Aransas, TX.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on June 10 by Torrey H. Bertheau, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Sector Corpus Christi.
Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary moving safety zone for navigable waters within a 500-yard radius of the rig JOLLIET. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created while it is towed to Aransas Terminals. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Corpus Christi.
