WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 -- Coast Guard has issued a notice called: Request for Information on Multi-Service Vessels and Vessels of Opportunity.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 2 by W.R. Arguin, Rear Admiral, U.S. Coast Guard, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy.
Summary: The Coast Guard is requesting input from the public to better understand the operations of multi-service vessels (MSVs), specifically regarding the use of vessels of opportunity (VOOs). Public feedback will help to assess the current state of MSVs and VOOs in support of the marine transportation system and oil spill response activities.
