Brief Summary: The goal of this observational, cross-sectional, case-control clinical study is to investigate the metabolic adaptations underlying the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and to test the hypothesis that hepatic mitochondrial reductive stress contributes to progression of NAFLD.
