Brief Summary: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease characterized by loss of Beta cells in the pancreas, thus exogenous insulin is the mainstay of the management of it. Currently insulin is taken either in fixed doses for meals or variable doses via carbohydrate counting method.
