BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES ISSUES RULE: REVISING DEFINITION OF "UNLAWFUL USER OF OR ADDICTED TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE"

WASHINGTON, Jan. 22 -- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has issued a rule called: Revising Definition of "Unlawful User of or Addicted to Controlled Substance".

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan. 22 by Daniel Driscoll, Acting Director.

Summary: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives ("ATF") is amending Department of Justice ("Department") regulations to update the definition of "unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance, " a category of persons who may not possess firearms under federal law.
