BENNET, MERKLEY, DURBIN, PETERS, COLLEAGUES URGE CIRCUIT COURT TO AFFIRM THE CRITICAL PROTECTIONS OF MINORS IN IMMIGRATION DETENTION

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet joined U.S. Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and 22 of their Senate colleagues to file an amicus brief with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals urging the Court to uphold the 1997 Flores Settlement Agreement, which sets critical minimum standards for children in immigration detention and continues to be the single most effective protection for detained noncitizen children.
