U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that she secured $8,403,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending for Maine after-school, child care, and educational programs in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD), and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations bills. The bills, which passed the Senate last week and were approved by the House of Representatives earlier this week, have been signed into law.
