U.S., Oct. 19 -- The fifth edition of Tanzania's Swahili International Tourism Expo (SITE) opened today with a high level of participation of tourism and travel trade stakeholders, executives, and hosted buyers from 60 countries.

About 500 international and local exhibitors, as well as 440 hosted buyers and international media outlets from Africa, North and South America, Europe, India, and China are expected to participate the 3-day exhibition which will run up to Sunday this weekend.

SITE has attracted a series of seminars and travel trade meetings among participants, mostly from China which is an upcoming tourist market source that Tanzania is targeting to capture.
