U.S, April 16 -- Carnival Corporation & plc, the largest cruise company globally, has announced that Vice Admiral William R. Burke (Ret.), the Chief Maritime Officer, will step down from his position on February 1, 2025. Lars Ljoen, the current Chief Operations Officer of Carnival Cruise Line, will then assume the role of Chief Maritime Officer for Carnival Corporation & plc. In this capacity, Ljoen will be in charge of all maritime operations for the corporation and its various cruise lines, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Josh Weinstein. Additionally, Ljoen will oversee strategic destination development and manage the company's owned and operated ports.
