Buenos Aires, Feb. 13 -- German World No. 2 Alexander Zverev advanced to the ATP 250 Argentina Open quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Serb Dusan Lajovic.

Zverev won 80% of points on his first serve to prevail in one hour and 37 minutes on the outdoor clay of the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday.

In the next round he will meet Argentine fifth seed Francisco Cerundolo, who overcame brother Juan Manuel earlier in the day.

"I'm happy with my win today," said Zverev, who was playing his first match since losing to Jannik Sinner in the final of the Australian Open in January.
