Srinagar, April 1 -- The strategic Zojila Pass, a critical lifeline connecting Ladakh and Kashmir, was reopened on Tuesday after a brief 32-day closure.
This marks one of the shortest winter closure for this vital route which serves as a lifeline for Ladakh.
The reopening was officially declared by Director General Border Roads (DGBR) Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, who commended the tireless efforts of Project Beacon and Project Vijayak under the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for their dedication in restoring the vital route.
The pass, often closed during harsh winter months due to heavy snowfall and treacherous conditions, is a crucial artery for military, civilian, and supply movements.
