Kolhapur/Sindhudurg, Oct. 11 -- In a shocking incident, a Zilla Parishad school headmaster ended his life by hanging himself at his residence after failing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
The incident occurred on yesterday at Gele-Kadamwadi in Sawantwadi, Sindhudurg district.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Anand Suresh Kadam (36), headmaster of the Zilla Parishad Primary School at Gavthanwadi-Amboli.
As the government has made the TET examination mandatory for teachers, Kadam had appeared for the exam but failed to clear it. Reportedly depressed over his failure, he took the extreme step of ending his life.
