Los Angeles, Dec. 18 -- In a landmark move, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has partnered with YouTube in a multi-year deal granting the platform exclusive global rights to the 'Oscars' beginning with the 101st ceremony in 2029 and continuing through 2033.

Under the agreement, viewers worldwide will be able to watch the 'Oscars' live and for free on YouTube, including red carpet coverage, behind-the-scenes access, and the Governors Ball. In the United States, the event will also be available to YouTube TV subscribers.

YouTube plans to enhance accessibility with closed captioning and multiple language audio tracks for the Academy's expanding global audience.
