Buldhana (Maharashtra), Sept. 24 -- A youth allegedly killed his girlfriend and later ended his life at a local hotel in Khamgaon town in Buldhana district last night, police said today.
The deceased have been identified as Sonu alias Sahil Rajput (23) of Sakharkherda and Payal Pawar (21).
Police sources said the couple checked into a hotel on the city outskirts yesterday afternoon. Later in the night, following a heated argument, Rajput allegedly attacked Payal with a knife, killing her on the spot, before fatally injuring himself.
As the news spread, a large crowd gathered at the hotel, prompting police to use mild force to disperse the mob. A State Reserve Police (SRP) team was also deployed to maintain law and order.
