Nagpur, Sept. 18 -- A 19-year-old youth died after falling into a water-filled pothole on an underpass in Nagpur, triggering protests and tension at the accident site today, official said.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening near the Deputy Signal underpass when the victim, identified as Mahendra Fating, was riding a motorcycle amid heavy rains.

The pothole was submerged under accumulated rainwater, causing him to fall and sustain fatal injuries, the official said.

On Wednesday, locals gathered at the site and expressed anger over the incident, blaming civic apathy and poor road conditions.
