Muzaffarnagar (UP), May 14 -- A youth has been arrested by the police on charges of putting up anti-national posts on social media in Charthawal area of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Wednesday.
The police had received a complaint that a person named Qurban Tyagi, a resident of village Pavtikhurd, had shared an objectionable post about the country on his Facebook profile. "In relation to the case, Charthawal police station immediately took cognisance of it and after investigation, the facts were found to be correct," said a police source.
Police sources said that Charthawal police station took immediate action and registered a case against the accused under stringent sections and arrested the accused.
